Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your computer, through a web account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to get the best assemblage of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the gambler has selected which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are handed out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning players are able to pick the most money-making game each time.
Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Further, some styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their wins, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
