How to Gamble on Video Poker

Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be played in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, using an Internet account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the highest mixture of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, apart from the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will be "given out" on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be handed out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can change from game to game, so that knowledgeable gamblers are agile enough to choose the most profitable machine each and every time.

As soon as the first round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that might been won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which case another game is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
