Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be played in casinos across the world, or alternatively at home on your personal computer, through a web connection. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to win money. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are able to choose the most money-making game each and every instance.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their winnings, in which case another round is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
