Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your computer, using a net connection. The regulations are very simple and involve the player trying to achieve the best combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and gamblers should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he or she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can range from game to game, so that skillful players are able to pick the most money-making game every time.
After the first round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Further, some versions of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their profits, in which case a further game is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
