Video Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, using a net connection. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the best mixture of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be "distributed" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the enthusiast has chosen which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most profitable machine every instance.
Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, a few styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their wins, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
