Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be enjoyed in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your PC, through an Internet account. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it is very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the enthusiast has selected which cards he or she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are agile enough to choose the most profitable game every time.
As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that might have been won. Additionally, a few styles of the game give the player a chance to increase their wins, in which case another game is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
