Standard Jacks or Better Video Poker Techniques

Electronic Poker is often a game of talent – and using the basic combination of wagering technique and mathematical know-how, could be beat. Take note of the "pay out schedule" shown on the front of every machine, and look particularly at the most critical data – how a lot the device will pay for a Full-House vs a Flush.

An advanced video-poker player will also realise that a "Jacks-or-Better" device – classed as a nine/six device for paying out nine coins: one for each and every Full House and 6: 1 for just about every Flush, can be beaten using ideal Basic Electronic-Poker Method. Another machine offering the sophisticated video poker gambler an edge is the ten/six Deuces Wild device. These odds have been proven as a result of personal computer modelling. For that other machines – even if a player plays the Ideal Video Poker Technique game, he will still not win, though will have fun playing!

You’ll find set rules defining Basic Video Poker Method regardless of whether wagering online or in a casino – much like the Basic Technique for Chemin de fer,

Jacks-or-Better Electronic Poker Technique

  • In any hand having a Jack, unless of course the hand is already a winner! – 4 to an open-ended Straight, four with a Flush or three to some Straight Flush or Royal Flush – reject all cards only keeping the Jack
  • In any hand with only one card Jack or above, hold the single good card and reject all other cards and redraw.
  • In any hand having 1 pair lower than Jacks, preserve the pair and reject all other cards – unless of course the hand is four to some Straight or 4 with a Flush
  • In any hand holding a 2-pair, keep both pair and refuse the odd-card.
  • In any hand holding 3-of-a-kind keep the three-of-a-kind and refuse the other 2 cards.
  • In any hand with four into a Straight, keep all 4 Straight cards and re-draw – unless of course the Straight draw isn’t open-ended and the hand is holding a Jack)
  • In any hand having 4 into a Flush, hold the four Flush – unless of course the hand holds 3 to the Royal in which case you would draw to the Royal Flush
  • In any hand with four-of-a-kind, hold everything since a one-card draw will not increase the cards.
  • In any hand with 3 to a Royal Flush, refuse everything else and go for the Royal – unless of course the hand is already a Sraight Flush!

Practice these methods whist playing – perhaps even use to refer to the Basic Electronic-Poker methods until they become second nature. Go on …receive the skill and hit those video poker machines!
