Video Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your computer, using a web connection. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to get the best combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the play button. A hand of five cards will be "distributed" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be handed out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to select the most beneficial ones each and every instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Further, some versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their wins, in which case a further game is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
