Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be wagered on in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your PC, through a net connection. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the greatest assemblage of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, apart from the involvement with competing players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and players will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the enthusiast has selected which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be handed out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that skillful players are able to select the most profitable ones each instance.
After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their winnings, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
