Learning Play Electronic Poker

Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a web connection. The rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to come away with money. On this account it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the player has chosen which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.

Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful players are able to pick the most money-making ones each and every time.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game give the enthusiast a chance to double their profits, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
